Movie Pastime: Ninja Assassin

While preparing dinner last night, my boyfriend popped up the question, "Are you in the mood to watch a movie?" My reply was simple,"Only when it's super dooper action-filled."

My boyfriend did not disappoint me. He turned on the telly, the DVD machine and pushed the controller's play button. I had no idea whatsoever what was instore for me that time. I was just hoping for a real good film to pop on our tv screen and the film Ninja Assassin just oooh --- made my day! By the very minute this movie started, I was in awe until the very last second. I couldn't stop myself from shouting "Oh my!", "Gosh!" ", "Yes!", "Unbelievable!"...

Ninja Assassin has been released in cinemas (USA) on the 25th of November 2009 and has a very good 6.5/10 rating at IMDB.

Filmed mostly in Berlin, Germany, Ninja Assassin stars Rain (Raizo) who I immediately recognized as Justin* in Full House (a Korean TV series which was aired in the Philippines a few years back - dubbed in Tagalog).
Full synopsis of Ninja Assassin (quoted from IMDB):

"Ninja Assassin follows RAIZO (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.

In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan. "

This movie is one of the best Ninja films I've ever seen my whole life. It's totally action-packed from the very start to the very end! Highly recommended. Two thumbs up!

*I am not 100% sure if Rain's name is Justin in Full House. If not, please remind me by leaving a comment here. Thanks.
