When I mentioned to one of my friends over the phone that I was having cold feet, she immediately related the phrase to my relationship with my boyfriend. "Oh no!", I exclaimed. I didn't mean that! What I meant was my feet were cold since I didn't cover them with socks that time. I also couldn't find my pair of slippers which made walking on the floor too cold for my poor feet. My friend and I had a good laugh about it towards the end which was good somehow.
As much as possible, I try to keep my feet warm all throughout the day. If not, I usually suffer from consequences such as painful toes and uneasy legs which make it difficult for me to fall asleep during the night.
Hearing my concern, my friend told me about underfloor heating and the benefits one could get from it. I never heard about it before. I knew about fireplaces and wall mounted heaters but that facilitate in keeping the room warm. But underfloor heating was something alien to me.
Curious and confused, I searched about it through my ever-reliable consultant - Google. After reading through some pages, the underfloor heating idea made a whole lot of sense. Common sense wise, the heat coming from the floor would result to a more equally distributed heat all over the room than the common wall mounted heaters and fireplaces. Why didn't we think about this before? If we could have known about this a long time ago, I could have said goodbye to cold feet centuries ago.
