I Do [2010]

Before pushing the play button, I've made sure not to set the bar so high for the movie I Do. It's not that I do not like Erich Gonzales. It's just that I haven't seen her play a lead role before in a movie and expecting too much from her seems to be unfair at all and besides, I am not familiar with Enchong Dee making it easier for me not to hope that high.

Having said all that, I must admit that I like this movie. At first, I am having trouble finding the chemistry between Erich and Enchong but after sometime, I've gotten to like them. Perhaps one just needs to get used to the Erich-Echong love team before seeing the entire beauty of the film. I am actually looking forward to seeing both of them in another movie. Crazy, huh?

Anyhoo.... aside from Erich and Echong, I really enjoy listening to the lines of Janus del Prado. In fact, I've found myself waiting for Janus to pop up and share his amusing "Ang pag-ibig nga naman..." dialogues.

Just a few of Janus' funny love quotes:

Kahit anung bugaw mo, and hirap dispatsahin."
"Ang pag-ibig nga naman, anoh? Parang tinga. Kahit anung sungkit mo, nakabaon pa rin."

As usual, Pokwang and Dennis Padilla deliver their roles with a great amount of humor. I can't help myself but laugh on most of their lines.

All in all, the movie I Do is something many can relate to ~~~the importance of family, the presence of friends, the slight touch of love triangle, the conflict between families and in-laws, unplanned pregnancy, wedding stress, the everyday unnoticed comedies of life and more.

If you want to loosen up a bit and have a great time, watch I Do. It isn't the best movie Star Cinema has produced but it's one good film to see!
