Four days ago, I've written about my first impression on the Pinoy film, White House which is directed by Toppel Lee [most famous for Shake, Rattle and Roll 8, 9, 10 and 12] and stars Gabby Concepcion, Iza Calzado, Lovi Poe, Mo Twister, Megan Young... just to name a few. To continue, here's what I think about the whole film:
As I've mentioned on my earlier post, the story of White House is not unique but it's okey for me, at least. The effects definitely need polishing but the sound technique has certainly got me shouting and jumping off my seat. Kudos to that!
I haven't encountered issues with the actors and actresses except for Megan Young. Megan although is pretty, can't act that much. It seems like she's too stiff and not convincing at all.
The first 45 minutes of the film is good however towards the end, my enthusiasm slowly diminishes. I think that the writers put a lot of effort to create a good beginning but somehow have run out of clever ideas on how to keep the public's interest after its first half. The last 40 minutes have become so sloppy and dragging. I wish that the staff has dedicated more time processing the script and the story to keep the viewers wanting for some more. *sigh*
It's time for me to see if Sa 'Yo Lamang [starring Christopher de Leon and Lorna Tolentino] is worth my "two thumbs up". Have a great movie night [or day] everyone! Ciao!
