Movie: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey [2012]

Peter Jackson, the director of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, is back to direct The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.  If everything goes as planned, filming ends sometime in March of 2012 and the movie is scheduled to hit the cinemas in 14 December 2012 [US].

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is a prequel to the sensational The Lord of the Rings trilogy and is the first of a two-part film.  The movie is based from the novel The Hobbit [1937] written by J.R.R. Tolkien and is the story about Bilbo Baggins’ life, his encounter with Gollum and his precious ring.

Bilbo Baggins will be played by Martin Freeman [Sherlock the TV Series, Hot Fuzz].  A number of celebrities from the movie, The Lord of the Rings will join Freeman to play their roles again.  Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Ian Mckellen --- only to name a few.
