Sports: Sweden’s Junior Ice Hockey Team Wins Against Finland!

It’s past two o’clock in the morning here in Sweden and I need to get up in six hours to drag myself to school.  So this is going to be a very quick post.

First period ended with 0-1 for Finland

Second period with 0-2 for Finland

Third period:  Sweden turned the table upside down and scored 2 goals moving on to overtime.

Overtime: No score was made.  Scoreboard remained at 2-2.

Penalty shootout: Sweden wins against Finland [3-2 for Sweden] and will advance to the finals.  Sweden will face the team who will win the Russia-Canada match.

Good luck, Sweden!  Way to go!

UPDATE AS OF 01:29AM, 06 JANUARY 2012 [Swedish Time]:

--- Russia defeated Canada [6-5]. In thirty minutes, Sweden and Russia will one more time meet on the ice for the 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship match. [Good luck Sweden!]
--- Canada battled for the bronze title against Finland. Canada won [4-0].
