TV: MythBusters’ Two Cool Episodes–The Duct Tape Island and Gender Wars

As much as I find much joy in watching Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman on Discovery Channel’s tv show MythBusters, there is not enough time for me to catch every episode of every season.  I have been lucky enough though to see two really interesting episodes on two separate evenings a few weeks back.  To be honest, I have no idea from which season they belong to but well, does that really matter?

The show’s followers have witnessed a lot of surprises – their huge laboratory,  cool instruments, coolants, air filters for compressors, oils, lubricants, aftermarket compressor parts, explosives and more!  Everyone’s always looking forward to these two geniuses welding things together, testing gigantic machineries, blowing items up, doing test drives, shooting rockets, firing weapons and so on.  Crazy yet it’s such an awesome job!

The two episodes I’ve recently seen are something unique, somehow.  The Duct Tape Island and the Battle of the Sexes.

The Duct Tape Island is such a brilliant episode.  If you’ve seen it, then you’ll probably agree with me.  Imagine surviving in an island with hundreds of rolls of duct tape?  Slippers, water jugs, beds, a table, chairs, a chess set, a chicken trap, hammocks and believe it or not, a boat --- all made of duct tape and they made it, at least they thought so.

The Battle of the Sexes are kinda funny.  In this episode, questions have been answered.  Who’s the better driver?  Who’s better when it comes to directions?  Who’s better in packing traveling items in the car?  Who’s worse in reading non-verbal cues?  Who’s excellent when it comes to grilling?  Gender Wars, MythBusters style!

How about you?  Do you watch MythBusters?  Have you seen every episode?  What are your favorite episodes?
