Old songs make my heart giggle. Over the Rainbow, Thank You for the Music, Wake Up Little Susie are only a few of my old time favorites. Of course, Rainbow Connection which was first performed by Kermit the Frog and was voiced by Jim Henson in The Muppet Movie sometime in 1979 [a few months before I turned one year old] is definitely in my list.
While YouTube-ing after work this evening, I decided to search for Rainbow Connection videos and landed on this heartwarming ukulele instrumental piece:
I couldn’t help but play it over a few times. I added it to my YouTube playlist, too.
I have no idea who the talented kid is. What I know is he strums his fender ukulele beautifully. This soft version is lovely to listen to. It brings back childhood memories. It sure does make me want to learn to play a string instrument soon!
How about you? What old songs are included in your favorite list? Do you play any string instrument? Ever strummed a ukulele?
