There’s no news that TV shows can be a launching station for future rocket movie stars and if you don’t believe us, look at Jennifer Aniston who has quite an impressive movie career, while still being “Rachel from Friends”, even after all these years, yet another reason for the public to love her and go to her movies. And how about the old TV icon, The X Files? Everybody had a role there, everybody who had an artistic potential, there is, and who afterwards built either a television career or evolved to leading roles on the silver screen.
Let’s just think about Terry O’Quinn, who had three separate secondary appearances in the famous sci-fi show and who hit the jackpot in the role of John Locke in 2004 Lost. And speaking of Lost, let’s take Mr. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who jumped from being Mr. Eko to interpreting Heavy Duty in 2009 G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, a badass villain in 2012 Bullet to the Head and who’s gonna make our day in Thor: The Dark World soon enough. Did you miss these details? Well, don’t be too upset, as the new charter cable deals can provide on demand any show you want, so buckle up and re-watch past masterpieces in order to understand future star developments.
Having only these examples in mind, one can’t help but wonder what future careers are in stock for Game of Thrones superstars, as the show is presently on the second place in world-wide popularity [after The Sopranos], being considered a phenomena and also a good place to nurture future Hollywood celebrities. Many GoT actors didn’t start their acting career with this TV show, as they made short previous appearances as secondary characters in movies, but now that everybody’s watching them, it was only natural for producers and directors to become interested in some of them. Here are two Game of Thrones stars we expect to see more on the silver screen. And, might we add, two of the coolest, sexiest and loved by the [female] public.
Known more for his imposing stature and the eyebrow scar than for his role in Stargate Atlantis, Momoa looks bad, acts good and his Khal Drogo role made him a badass actor with a great potential in leading barbarian or villain roles. This is one of the reasons he played 2011 Conan the Barbarian, although nobody can replace Arnie for that role and that was obvious, but also the role of the big bad silent type hit man in Bullet to the Head, starring Sylvester Stallone and Sung Kang. But things don’t stop here, as Momoa was already booked for 2013 drama Road to Paloma, 2013 horror picture Wolves and 2014 horror / sci-fi Debug. In other words, ladies, start going to the cinema, as Jason is going to be on the silver screen a lot more in the next years.
Jon Snow is maybe one of the most loved and respected characters in Game of Thrones and while still fresh in the business, he impressed the audience and the producers quite a lot with his acting skills and a look that can’t leave anybody cold, man, woman or child. Trying his abilities with Vincent in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, not the kind of movie that would bring out his full potential, Kit makes a surprising appearance in the Seventh Son, where he doesn’t have a leading part but we still hope he will do a decent job, especially since the movie looks interesting from the trailer. But Kit is not just bound to his duty from Game of Thrones. We’ll be seeing him a lot in next year, as he is going to feature in 2014 action / adventure movie Pompeii, will enchant us with his voice of the Dragon Prince in How to Train Your Dragon 2 and he’s rumored for a Monte Cassino part, but nothing is clear on that subject.
