The Most Exhilirating Free MMORPGs

There’s a huge variety of different game genres. Still, MMORPGs stand out for the freedom and creativity they offer players. The size of some of these games is pretty staggering, but even then gamers can get bored. If you’re looking for a new MMO to pass the time, you’re probably feeling spoilt for choice with all the different titles. Massively multiplayer games only really start when you’ve made enough progress, so make sure you find one that’s right for you! Here are some of the best free MMORPGs.

If you’re new to the RPG format, then Maple Story 2 could be for you. This is a 3D Korean game designed with anime sensibilities, and a much lighter feel compared to other MMO games. After customising a character’s facial features and hair, you’re let out into a vast fantasy world. Almost everything you encounter is heart-meltingly cute, too. Because of that, it isn’t the best choice if you’re trying to get your boyfriend into gaming! The structure of the world is simple and blocky, which makes a lot of the interface easy to grasp. The sheer amount of all the things you can explore means you won’t tire of this easily! For a little help, you can buy MapleStory 2 Mesos at SEAGM.

Tera Rising may seem like a standard fantasy MMO on the surface, but gives a fairly unique gaming experience. Most other games will use a targeting combat system. Here, combat is heavily dictated by the gear you have. The action in Tera is more live and hands-on. You have complete control over your character. Victory over the game’s enemies often depends on your reactions and cunning. Rather than right-clicking your target and sitting back, you’ll have to aim each spell and attack manually. You can feel this dynamic approach within the first minute! For a free game, it also has incredibly detailed graphics and smooth animation. Check out this review for more information.

If swords and sorcery isn’t your thing, then you might be interested in Planet Calypso. This is a truly beautiful sci-fi MMO, where you play as a human settler on an alien planet. This is a game you could really play for years on end. There are dozens of unique planets to explore, each with their own enemies and missions to complete. There’s a huge emphasis on developing your character, with over 200 skills to hone and improve. The attention to detail in this game is incredible. Each item you can acquire has its own unique name, features and visual details, which is hard to come by in the free-to-play niche. The controls and social features are also very easy to pick up.

I’ve tried quite a number of online gaming formats. I think it’s safe to say MMOs offer both the longest playtime and richest social aspect. With the variety of titles you can choose from, you’re bound to find an MMORPG which suits your tastes. My only word of warning is to do some research into the social rules and conventions around your chosen fantasy realm. Aside from that, have fun!
