I used to dislike sitting in front of the telly, watching English comedies simply because back then, trying to comprehend what these English comedians were talking about was a nightmare for me to figure out. After being exposed to a lot of English comedies during my first three years of stay here in Sweden, I got used to how English people pronounce the words their way [thanks to my boyfriend and his best mate, Lo who was born and grew up in London] and was also able to grasp a number of English jokes and funny phrases.

Now... I enjoy watching English comedy shows such as The IT Crowd, Black Books and the British stand-up comedy programme, Live at the Apollo. I've recently got hooked into watching Spaced [stars two of my fave English actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost who are both in really funny movies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz] and has been able to finish watching its first season in two sittings. I've had hours of great laughter!

My boyfriend and I watched the first two episodes of the second season yesterday afternoon. As expected, I spent lots of minutes laughing out loud.

The only sad thing about Spaced is that only 14 episodes have been released, 7 per season. *sigh*

Spaced is one clever show! Brilliant!

When the makers of Millionaire City [MC] released the new residential buildings six [6] days ago, I was one of the many MC players who felt so much excitement. Finally, we were able to see new residential units after quite a long waiting period.

Now your customers can either purchase cakes and pastries for them to take home or just dine-in! The game looks more fun this way HOWEVER, I must say that the game is seriously starting to look like Cafe World... yayks!Have fun guys!

"Part Spy. Part Babysitter. All Hero."

Jackie Chan's The Spy Next Door [released in cinemas on January 15 - USA] has only received a 5.2 out of 10 rating at IMDB which makes me scratch my head and whisper, "Hmmmm..." Are the people all over the world starting to get bored with Mr. Chan's same-old, same-old stunts?

I've seen the film a few days back with my boyfriend and I have to say that The Spy Next Door is actually good. Well, I admit that it's not that spectacular but it's at least worth a higher rating. It's cute, it's funny and is definitely worth watching.

I will be watching The Karate Kid [Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith and more] antyime within this week. I am not quite sure if I'll love it or not. We'll see!

Restaurant City's Newest LOUNGE Theme And The New LOUNGE BAR Feature

Just when I thought I was totally over the Restaurant City [RC] Facebook app, the game proved me wrong... again!

I stopped playing RC for almost a month. After the developers introduced the Japanese theme and had it going for [I guess] three weeks, I got really bored. After I had my restaurant decorated with the Japanese theme, unlocked the Sushi Bar and had all the Japanese dishes reached level 10, I suddenly could not find the interest to get back on the game.
On the photo below: my Japanese-themed restaurant in Restaurant CityHowever, this morning after logging in to Facebook, I noticed my friends posting on their walls regarding their success in unlocking the NEW LOUNGE BAR. I went.... "What? A new feature?" I stopped everything that I was doing and proceeded to the RC app to check out what the buzz was all about.
The newly released Lounge Bar: How to get the Lounge Bar in Restaurant City? It's simple. All you need to do is to master the Coco Colada recipe [unlock it to level 10] and presto!.... You get the Lounge Bar at no extra cost.
The Lounge Bar can accommodate/serve up to three [3] customers. However, in order to unlock more seats, you need to master more drinks. You also need to hire a bartender to keep your Lounge Bar running so do not forget to assign a friend for the job!
How to get/unlock an additional employee?Unfortunately, after unlocking the lounge bar the players aren't given an additional employee which means you have to assign one of your waiters or chefs to become your bartender. THE GOOD NEWS IS: you will be able to hire one more friend to work in your restaurant if you master [reach level 10] the Strawberry Heaven drink. So go and master Strawberry Heaven ASAP!
Since the developers of the RC game has introduced the POSH/LOUNGE THEME today, aside from successfully getting my restaurant's Lounge Bar, I've also come up with the decision to put the Japanese theme behind. The POSH THEME items look really nice and I can't but help myself from redecorating all over again. It's just a relief to know that I have more than enough coins saved up to buy all the new items/furniture I've wanted!

The interior design as a whole:Introducing, The Lounge Bar:The indoor waiting area and the men's and ladies' rooms: I honestly like the combination of the black and white walls for my restaurant's toilets. The result's amazing! The black and white couch also creates a relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful, isn't it?The dining and the kitchen area: I've always wanted my dining area to have tables can accommodate one [for guests who dine alone], two [for couples] and groups [for families, friends and colleagues]. I really like the glossy black tables as they really look so posh! The group tables also look amazing! I so love them! I've covered my restaurant's kitchen using black dividers and black divider blocks which really blend well with the whole theme of the restaurant. I've kept the restaurant's garden really simple with flowers, a koi pond and water tiles. All in all, I have to say that I am happy with my restaurant's new POSH theme and overalldesign. The only disappointment I've done is when I've purchased the HOST for five [5] Playfish Cash which unfortunately does not really look good at all. The host doesn't move at all! I've then decided to not use my host at all and just place it back to my "stockroom". It's such a waste of Playfish Cash which I've received from playing Playfish's Hotel City. *pout*

Nightclub City: Club Expansion Feature Update

Finally, the long wait is almost over!
When the Nightclub City [NC] game developers first launched the game's expansion feature, the players were upset about it obviously because we were all stuck at level 40 [read the post about it here]! Almost 18 hours ago, NC released a new nightclub theme, a new feature and a very interesting announcement.
1.] The New Theme: Sub-Aquatica
2.] New Feature - Gift Giving/Sending

3.] The Interesting Announcement - that the developers of the NC Facebook app has finally heard our request! Along with the new theme and new feature, the developers announces that NEW LEVELS AND EXPANSIONS are coming soon. It's about time!

While waiting for the release of the "new levels and expansions" feature on Nightclub City, I suggest that you keep your dance floor groovin' and the drinks flowin'. I have this not-so-weird-feeling that the expansions will cost us a huge amount of NC coins so better save a lot of coins now!

The Last Airbender

While browsing some new interesting movies at IMDB for me to watch during the weekend, I've caught glimpse of The Last Airbender film. I have seen all movies which are both directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan [so far, my favorite is The Sixth Sense] and I must admit that this guy's really a genius! Anyway, The Last Airbender, scheduled to be released in cinemas all over US is Shyamalan's latest masterpiece which, by just watching its official trailer, I can say that this movie will surely become another Shyamalan hit.

Just like most of you out there, I can hardly wait to watch The Last Airbender. There's nothing we can do now but to sit and wait until the film's released on the first week of July.

Castle & Co: A New Facebook App

Castle & Co is one of the newest Facebook apps carrying lots of potential. Released for Facebook-ers on 28 April 2010, this game delivers total cuteness --- from its background music to sound effects, the animation, the game characters and the entire concept just go along well together.

There's nothing complicated about Castle & Co. The main objective of the game is to make as much coins as possible [of course] in order to make your kingdom rich. The coins earned are used in purchasing workshops which is the kingdom's main source of income. Upgrading workshops cost coins but upgrades play a very important key in this game --- the more you upgrade, the more workers you'll get; the more workers your kingdom has, the more coins you'll earn. Simple, right?

The catch is: you need to keep your workers happy. When workers become bored, they work slower. Adding some decorations right next to your workshops will do the trick. However, be sure to match the TYPES of decorations with the LIKES of your workshop workers otherwise, you'll end up just wasting your coins. You can also click on your characters/workers to cheer them up however, this is a very time consuming step not unless you sit in front of your computer day in and day out.

All items here are moveable and flip-pable except for the river and the mountain *wink*.

Oh and yes! You can send free gifts to your neighbors/friends so keep the gift-giving going!

The Big Bang Theory: The Beginning

The Big Bang Theory's episode number 22 of season 3 actually has a subtitle of The Staircase Implementation. However, since this is the episode that tells about how the two key casts [Sheldon and Leonard] of the show meet for the first time, I call this episode "The Beginning".

This episode was aired on the 17th of May and just like all the other episodes, this one never failed to make me and Bebe laugh out loud.

If you still haven't seen this episode, you better find ways to see it! It's one episode you shouldn't miss!

The Bar Society Game On Facebook

If I am not mistaking, The Bar Society Facebook app has just been launched yesterday, 27 May 2010. I am proud to say that I am one of the first few players to try this new game.

First look: Hmm... there's nothing really special about this game. The idea behind Bar Society is somehow similar to Nightclub City with a number of twists.

The similarities between these two games:

1.] You need bars and bartenders to keep the party going

2.] Dance floor

The twists:

1.] You need waitresses/waiters in Bar Society to serve drinks

2.] Bar Society has a drink list where you can choose a specific drink to serve your customers. Different drinks have different preparation lengths and different prices

3.] In Bar Society, your bartenders do not only serve drinks, they prepare them, too. I love watching the bartenders perform their acts. So cute!

4.] Unlike in Nightclub City, you have to assign friends as your bar's employees

5.] You do not need a DJ to keep your dancefloor groovin' in Bar Society

6.] There is an option for players to send gifts neighbors

So far, these are the first points I've noticed while playing Bar Society for the first time.

Nightclub City: The Club Expansion/Upgrade Feature

Four days ago, I've posted about my nightclub reaching the last level, 40 [you can read the post here]. Just like a lot of you out there who enjoy playing this Facebook app, I also believe that the creators of Nightclub City will add more levels to make the game more exciting --- and we're right!
Just today, 28 May 2010, Nightclub City has added a new feature --- a club expansion! Exciting, isnt it? If you are at level 40 just like me, you need to reach level 60 in order to get the 24x24 VIP club expansion. But if you are in a hurry and of course, have the money then you can expand your club anytime you want at a price of 100 Facebook credits.

Okey. So for people like me who are not willing to pay real money to expand, all we need to do is level up, level up and level up!

Question is: How do we level up to 60?

My answer: I do not really know!

I've spent some time figuring out how to get myself out of level 40. I am still stuck at the 40th level and it's too frustrating. I guess, the error is in the part of the creators. They've seemed to forget about opening up some more levels for the players to reach 60. *sigh* [Come on Nightclub City developers! Please wake up!]
Anyway, for all the players out there, just keep the music playing and the bars refilled. I am certain that this issue is going to be fixed soon [I hope].

Nightclub City's Last Level

As of today, 24 May 2010, the highest/last level of the Nightclub City game on Facebook is 40. I've reached level 40 this morning and is a bit disappointed. *sigh* How I wish that there are more levels for the gamers to aim for.

My disappointment doesn't mean though that I am quitting the game. Since at the moment, I am at the end of the road, I'll simply slow down a bit until the creators of Nighclub City will add some more levels to spice up the game a little more. I am definite that the creators of this game will come up with more features and create more options later on. Just like the rest of those who've reached level 40 already, I'll be happy to sit down with you and wait!

The Millionaire City Facebook Game

Millionaire City by Digital Chocolate is a new Facebook app. Launched just days ago [19 May 2010] this game shows a lot of potential!

I started playing Millionaire City yesterday afternoon. My first thought was,"Oh... just another town/city app...." and sighed. It turned out that I was wrong.

Millionaire City isn't a complicated game. You run your city by building residential units, commerces, roads, etc. You earn coins by collecting rentals, incomes from your commerces, helping neighbors and completing missions.
One thing that you must remember when playing this game is that you can not rearrange or move the buildings and other city items around. If you one day realize that a certain object is not strategically situated, you have to delete/destroy the item and build the new one you desire. Building new items will cost you loads of coins so before investing your coins into new buildings and commerces, try to plan your strategy first.
I am still a rookie in this game but I am already on level 8 with a company value of more than $2,000,000. Not bad, huh?
I look forward to more Millionare City game updates soon. I sure hope that a feature where we will be able to rotate the buildings will be added for better layout and fun!

The Adorable Down Town Game On Facebook

When I started playing Down Town on Facebook about four days ago, I did not really pay so much attention to details. All I did was... I accepted a friend's game Down Town invite so as not to be quoted as a snob.

Down Town's preview game was released sometime in November of 2009 [that, I wasn't aware of]. Somehow, between November up to the first two weeks of February 2010 the game was in silent mood [I assume because the creators behind the game have been busy improving the game during those silent months]. The Down Town creators updated their Down Town Facebook Application Page on the 16th of February 2010 which was the page's second announcement. [I hope I've known about the game earlier!]

First impression of the game: CUTE! Definitely cute! The smiling avatars, the clothes, the furniture --- really adorable! The game has been on Facebook for months but obviously it's still in its testing phase and yet, I haven't encountered any loading issues and bugs since the day I've played which is pretty much surprising, I must say.

As of today, I am on level 3. I am not levelling up so fast in this game but I am happy just checking out my boutique in Down Town at least twice a day. By the way, this is the interior of my shop:

The good thing about this game is that once you've earned enough coins, you can buy some more shops which are located in your Down Town street. My aim is to purchase all the shops which is of course difficult but in time, I know I can make it. My first target is to buy this three-story-building [please refer to the photo below] which costs $9,217. Maybe after two or three days, I will already be able to collect enough coins to finally own this building.

Miss You Like Crazy [2010]

I planned on watching John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo's latest cinema tandem "Miss You Like Crazy" during my latest Philippine vacation. However, due to a hectic schedule, I was not able to squeeze in the plan into my very limited vacation time. *sigh*
Days after arriving back to Sweden, I asked my boyfriend to look for possible free torrents so he could download the film for me. Unfortunately, Miss You Like Crazy wasn't available for download that time. It took us more than two months to finally find one! Thanks to the power of the internet! Without it [plus free torrents of course] living life away from the Philippines could have been so boring.
So, yes! Just a week ago, I was able to sit down on our cozy sofa with a bowl filled with butter-flavored popcorn and a glass of cold Coke while watching Bea and John Lloyd on the flat screen telly. Weet weew! [That's how I whistle *wink*] I couldn't stop laughing and giggling. There were some parts that were heartbreaking, too --- huhuhu.
Anyhoooo, although I didn't expect too much from this movie, Cathy Garcia-Molina's [You Changed My Life, My Only Ü, A Very Special Love - to mention a few] directing talent was definitely worth it.
As of today, 19 May 2010, Miss You Like Crazy has been given an 8.2 out of 10 user rating at IMDB which is amazingly high. There aren't so many Tagalog/Filipino films which have reached a user rating of more than 7 which makes me go "wow" every now and then.
If you are still thinking on whether to watch Miss You Like Crazy or not, stop thinking already! Watch it! You'll surely enjoy every minute of it.
Two thumbs up! Hmmm. I wonder if there's going to be another John Lloyd-Bea movie again before 2010 ends. I certainly hope so!

Cafe Life: A New Facebook Game

It's already past 1 in the morning and I am still wide awake. Lo, my boyfriend's best mate has arrived some hours ago and will be staying with us for some days. The boys are still up and playing a number of PS3 games so I've decided to log in to Facebook and see if there are some new interesting apps released within the week. While doing my search, I've seen a Cafe Life invite on one of my friends' walls. As usual, out of curiosity I've accepted the invite and started playin' at once.First impression: CUTE! Oh my! The characters/avatars look so cutieliciously adorable!
Cafe Life has been initially released on the 10th of May [Monday]. I've gone through the Cafe Life Facebook Fans Page and obviously, since the game is still very young, it has been having some loading issues which of course the makers are trying to fix.
The idea of Cafe Life is almost the same as other café/restaurant Facebook apps/games.

You allow the Cafe Life app to access your Facebook account
Open your own café
Hire a friend to work for you
Check the recipe book by clicking an empty oven and choose the recipe you want to prepare for your customers/guests. Most of the recipes are locked in the beginning but as your café levels up, the recipes will unlock along.
Wait until the recipe's done
Add some finishing touches
Serve
Clean your oven
Check the recipe book again and start baking once more!

Simple, right? If you are still lost, do not worry, you will have a hostess to help you during the first few minutes of the game.There will also be a drink machine that's going to be provided for you. Use it to make coffee recipes. The steps in brewing coffee are the same as baking so I am pretty sure that you will not get lost when preparing those cups of hot coffee for your customers.
Visit your friends' café shops and find some lost purses. Post a "lost and found" note to your wall and receive bonuses whenever your friends claim it.

Come On You Spurs!

My morning started with a cup of hot chocolate [no milk, please?], slices of red apple and some minutes checking on the ESPN Soccer/Football channel online. Unfornutely, my boyfriend and I haven't been able to watch Tottenham play live on telly yesterday. It's good to know that I can easily get updated on what's going on the world of football anytime anywhere through ESPN online.

My boyfriend might travel to England with one [or two] of his Tottenham mates sometime soon to watch the team play for real before the Premiere League season ends. I am thinking of surprising my boyfriend with custom t-shirts. I am still in the process of looking for a good soccer tshirt design. A not-so-huge Tottenham logo on the front side with a "Come On You Spurs!" print on the back seem like a perfect design. My boyfriend will surely like the idea!

Aside from a couple of tshirts, I might also purchase two custom made hoodies [with the same design as the shirts] --- one for my boyfriend and of course, one for me!

If things go on well, I might actually fly to England with my boyfriend and his friends. But if ever I will not be able to join them, at least I will be having my Tottenham hoodie on while watching our guys try their best to kick the ball towards the gold!

The Social City iPhone App

I was one of the many who jumped for joy by the time I learned about the Social City iPhone app. Because it's a free app, I did not hesitate to install it at once on my iPhone. The great thing was that, I received two great bonuses after completing the installation process. First was the Cell Tower and the second reward was 5 City Bucks. Yipee!!!

There are four good points about the Social City iPhone app:
One, "harvesting" population can now be done by the time it's ready. It no longer matters whether you are away from your lappy or desktop. Just check your app's Residential menu and start harvesting new population.
Two, cleaning those filthy looking leisure buildings is just one click away. Having this feature in this iPhone app allows me to clean and collect more bonuses each day.
Three, you are given an option to get an alert message when a certain contract is ready. No more wasted coins!
Four, I can earn Free City Bucks by trying some iPhone apps. You can check the available apps on the app's City Bucks button.
However, however, however, I really DO NOT LIKE the fact that it costs City Bucks to collect on contracts. Yes... lame, isn't it? As of now, I need to use 2 City Bucks [good for one day] or 8 City Bucks [for one week] for me to collect the ready contracts. Since I do not have enough City Bucks on my account, I can either Buy City Bucks or wait until I get my hands on my computer. The way I see it, this feature is really annoying.
Oh, before I take a blogging pause soon, just one more thing... NOPE, you cannot see the layout of your city in this Social City iPhone app. All you get are buttons [Factories, Leisures, Residentials, City Bucks, etc.]. For you to see your city, rearrange buildings, buy buildings, accept gifts and give gifts, you have to log in on your lappy or desktop.
Well, that's it for now. If you love Social City and you have an iPhone, at least download the app. Remember, you'll get a free Cell Tower and 5 City Bucks just by doing so!

The Phoenix Salerno Luxury Inset Bath - Our Dream Tub!

I do not have anything against the bathtub that we have in our apartment. For the past two years and 10 months, it has been my tiny cabin of comfort especially during the very cold Swedish winter months. I love dipping my body in a warm bubble bath until I no longer feel cold and freezing. By the time I step out of the tub, I feel refreshed and revitalized --- ready to face the world again.

But of course, if given the opportunity, I want to have the old bathtub replaced by a luxury bath that is furnished with inline heater, jets with different speed for back and foot massage, air flow controls and of course, it must be able to accommodate two people. I've long dreamed of spending a relaxing bath time with my Bebe. However, with the type of bathtub we have for now, it's impossible to share the tub together.

I have been flipping some pages of bathroom accessories online the other night when I suddenly bumped onto the Phoenix Salerno Luxury Inset Bath. This luxury bath [as shown on the photo to your left] is the perfect one for us! With its Airpool and Whirlpool system features, my boyfriend and I will definitely have a wonderful bath moment. To make our bath time more romantic, we'll just light up a few scented candles and open a glass of champagne. With this luxury bath in our bathroom, it will definitely be Valentine's Day everyday!

The Big Bang Theory's The Spaghetti Catalyst

The Big Bang Theory's latest episode [Season 3 Episode 20] subtitled as The Spaghetti Catalyst is filled with so much fun! It is in this episode where I've seen a new side of Sheldon who is trying to start a good friendly relationship with Leonard's ex-, Penny.

Synopsis for "The Big Bang Theory" The Spaghetti Catalyst:

"Sheldon (Jim Parsons) needs to get his mail but doesn't want to approach Penny (Kaley Cuoco) at the mailboxes. He'll have to get it telepathically, and Sheldon immediately corrects her to the term telekinetically. Sheldon is uncertain what the protocols for talking with Penny since she and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) are no longer having coitus...or not seeing each other, as the rest of the planet would say. Penny says they can still be friends, and he can't use the word 'coitus.' Or intercourse, or fornication.....

As usual, Sheldon is hilarious in this episode while Leonard is still obviously in pain [but in denial of it] after his break up with his one and only Penny.

One of the funniest part of this episode is when Sheldon tries to show his support to his best friend Leonard by showing the "L" sign. Well of course, Sheldon obviously relates the letter L to Leonard but to the viewers, the message being delivered is the... you know... Leonard is a loser. Oh my! So funny!

And if you are wondering... yup! Sheldon uses the magic word "Bazinga!" in this episode. I am sure you'll never miss it!

Bingo - Virtual Game, Virtual Friends, Genuine Fun!

My friends and I gather at least twice a month to play Bingo together. Well, that is when before I've migrated to Sweden. Nowadays, I mostly play Bingo online. It's strange though. At first, my first thought is that playing Bingo online will just make me realize how alone I have become today. However, it hasn't taken so much time for me to get adjusted with the situation. Playing online Bingo has actually helped me gain a number of friends. We just do not play the game, we also chat at the same time and make fun of each other.

Technology has indeed made it possible to bring people and strangers together. Never in my wildest dreams that I will one day find myself playing Bingo with strangers on the other end of the internet without feeling uncomfortable about it. Through the years, it has been proven and tested that Bingo, whether online or offline is a fun way to be around with friends [and even virtual friends]. It's definitely a good pastime to take boredom away.

If one day you find yourself staring at the emptiness of space, lonely and feeling dull, give online Bingo a chance. Try it! Maybe all you need is some Bingo fun and some virtual friends to cheer you up!
